In addition to the educational programme the Society holds several social events during the year at which members can meet in a more relaxed atmosphere. These include the Annual Dinner and the less formal Summer Supper, each with an after-dinner speaker. Recent topics have been Richard III-The Greyfriars Project and the building of Walsall’s tramway.

There are also regular Discussion Lunches at Darwin House when members can exchange views on a chosen subject of topical interest. The lunches are introduced by a facilitator with an interest in or knowledge of the subject.

Details of forthcoming events are available to Members in the Members’ Area
