LSES-ban-visits-940

Members enjoy visits to a wide variety of places, generally those not open to the general public. These have included manufacturers of planes, cars, trains, carpets, cans, bottles, lenses, float glass and ammunition, the laboratories of the Health and Safety Executive and British Standards Institute, horticultural research, the construction sites of the new Library of Birmingham and New Street Station, automated warehouses and air traffic control. The Society is grateful for the hospitality of all of these organisations who devote a significant part of their working day to showing us what they do and how they do it.
