Description: Most land plants and many soil fungi have evolved to collaborate and the functioning of these underworld mutually-beneficial networks reaches almost mythological status in the popular press. This talk disentangles fact from fiction and describes the key roles played by root-fungal interactions in driving ecosystem functions.
